Getting Started With Swiftpage

Are you having trouble getting started with Swiftpage? Do you feel like e-mail follow-up marketing is where your company needs to go, but you just can't quite figure out how to put the pieces together?

Swiftpage Certified ConsultantSwiftpage is an amazing way to implement your follow-up marketing. Some of the automation options that are available blew me away when I first saw it. I have to tell you, I am SO impressed with this group, that I became a Swiftpage Certified Consultant (as of the end of August 2008, there were only 5 in the country).

Swiftpage DocumentationAnytime a software offers lots of options, it can seem confusing to a new user. So I started developing some documentation for my clients on how to get the most out of Swiftpage. (I love teaching people how to do it themselves.) However, many of my customers wanted me to show them how to do it while they read the documentation. So I developed a couple of options for them to help them learn what they needed to know.

“Just Get Me Started” Session

You know drip marketing is what you need to be doing. You know you’ve been religious about collecting your contact data. How do you pull it all together to generate a system that will generate consistent revenue and growth with less effort for you and your sales staff?  This is just the help you have been waiting for.

Let’s start by talking through a strategy session that incorporates your customers’ buying process and your company’s sales process. Our session will track how you are capturing the first inquiry, educating them about your products and services, asking for the order, following up on the purchase, and asking for referrals. From this strategy session, we will begin a roadmap for putting your sales and marketing activities on autopilot.

Once we have your roadmap started, then we will take remote control of your desktop to show you how to get your Swiftpage account set up properly. “I’m Ready to Graduate to Drip Marketing” Session – Implementing Drip Marketing

You’ve been sending a few emails out of Swiftpage and now you want to get serious about automating your follow up. You may even want to incorporate post cards, faxing, direct mail letters or follow-up calls in a sequential “keep in touch” series. After this session , you will have a drip-marketing campaign ready to launch.

To create a professional drip marketing campaign, you need four things: a contact database, a defined campaign sequence, the drip marketing letters that plug into the sequence, and an automation tool (we use Swiftpage) that puts the campaign on … well… automatic. We’ll start by adding the individual marketing campaign letters into Swiftpage (either your own or ones that you purchased from us). After launching an internal trial send for proofing, we’ll automate the letter templates into your Swiftpage “Drip Marketing Campaign”. Once the process is in place, we can assign any existing contacts or just add to some test contacts for a trial. The session includes documentation on the procedures covered so you can do it on your own next time. (However, neither the session nor the documentation includes any copywriting or template design.)

Sending any kind of e-mail results in an immediate response. Now imagine the impact on your business if you string several e-mails and postcards together over several weeks with multiple drip marketing campaigns. “What does all this mean?” Session –
Managing Your Drip Marketing Campaigns

Now that you have launched your first campaign, here are some of the things that are going to happen. Your Inbox will start filling up with replies to your emails (some of which say simply “Call me!”). People have questions. Readers will click on your links embedded in the messages that you sent and you will be able to tell which products and services are most popular. How are you going to manage all this activity and make intelligent business decisions for the next marketing campaign?

This session focuses developing a strategy to analyze and manage your results. We’ll develop specific action steps that are appropriate for the buyer’s journey and determine the next steps in your follow up process. Additionally, now that you have learned the basics of drip marketing, it’s a perfect time to learn about advanced drip marketing techniques which includes handling:

  • contacts who buy in the middle of a stage
  • prospects who becomes customers (in a prospecting follow-up campaign)
  • contacts that sign up for an event, so they don’t need any more sign-up reminders
  • opt outs
  • manually removing one contact from a campaign
  • transferring contacts to another campaign based on specific conditions (did they open, did they click, did they not open, did a field in your ACT! database change, etc.)
  • situations where something happens in your business and you need to pause a campaign
  • creating a call list of high potential contacts in the campaign
  • sharing templates that you have created with other users in your company
  • setting up a centralized marketing account that can send out personalized messages from each of your sales staff in one batch
  • finding out what other Advanced drip marketing features you could be utilizing
